Why storms can increase pest activity
Wind and water can also expose gaps around roofs, eaves, doors, vents, siding, and wall lines. Those openings do not guarantee an infestation, but they create easier travel routes at the same time pests are being displaced.
A post-storm sighting does not always mean a major problem. Repeated indoor activity, multiple pest types, droppings, mud tubes, or activity that continues after conditions dry out are stronger reasons to schedule an inspection.
